Purchase of Contemporary Art: Submissions possible towards the end of October
Upon decision of the board of the Association of Friends of Fine Arts (GFBK) on 27 November 1996, the Graphic Collection of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna was accorded an annual budget of for “continuous acquisitions of young Austrian art with special consideration given to graduates of the Academy, but also considering related international works of art”. The acquisitions shall ensure the greatest possible diversity of artistic means of expression. In order to foster an objective selection, a jury composed of members of the faculty of the Academy and the scientific staff of the Graphic Collection shall decide on the acquisitions on 12 November 2024.
Submissions:
- 28 October 2024 until no later than 31 October 2024 (9 – 12 h)
- Place: office of the Graphic Collection (Schillerplatz 3, 1. floor, room 113, 1010 Wien)
Submission criteria:
- Graduation from an art university/academy
- Graduation within the last 5 years
- A maximum of 10 works per submitting artist
- Original works only (no copies, photographs of works etc.)
- Submissions by graduates of the Academy are given preference
- Submissions by artists whose work the Graphic Collection has never acquired before are given preference
Submission documents:
- Works on paper only: drawings, prints (also digital prints), photography (please do not use self-adhesive films)
- Only unframed original work will be considered
- Maximum size: 70 x 100 cm
