The call for VIS Issue 14 is open with the theme “The Heart of the Experiment (and the art of failure)”. In this edition of VIS they would like to pay attention to experimental art practices and artistic research where the experiment is the heart of the practice and the specific outcome of the process are not known.

As part of the collection-related research season 2025/26 “Beside, not infinite,” the Austrian Ludwig Foundation is offering a grant in 2025 to support research for academic as well as artistic and curatorial projects in the field of visual arts by funding a research trip outside of Austria.

Funding is available for ongoing qualification theses (i.e. diploma, bachelor's and master's theses, dissertations) on LGBTIQQAA*-relevant topics in all scientific disciplines that are being written at Austrian universities (but not courses, MBA programmes or habilitations). The programme Heritage Science Austria 2.0 of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, which is funded by the National Foundation for Research, Technology and Development (Fonds Zukunft Österreich) is published for the second time in 2024 after a first call in 2020.
