The Academy Goes to School

The coordination office Academy Goes to School (AgidS) at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna strives to provide accessible information about studying at the Academy, aiming to reach those currently underrepresented at the institution.

The central concern of the office involves activities that highlight pathways to studying at the art university, as well as the creation of structures that facilitate access. The long-term goal is to reduce educational inequality through forward-looking initiatives, with particular consideration of the importance of education in a diverse society.

Through targeted and medium-term events, collaborations, and workshop series, contacts are established, relationships with schools and extracurricular institutions are formed, and thus active and growing networks are created.

AgidS endeavors to offer formats that meet the specific needs of young people in each collaboration: targeted workshops, activities as part of courses at the Academy, portfolio reviews, speed dating, etc.

Currently, we are collaborating with schools and youth centers both in and outside of Vienna, as well as with associations, museums, and other cultural institutions.
