MUSLIM*CONTEMPORARY 2022
Muslim*Contemporary sees itself as a multidisciplinary, participatory and dialogical festival that aims to reflect on the place of Muslim communities' participation in society through art, education and dialogue. The aim is to create spaces where important social discourses can be reflected and negotiated through representation.
For the year 2022, we are moving into the transalpine space. It is a matter of transcending the edge of one's plate - the national borders. This, literally, horizon-expanding effort, however, goes hand in hand with a geographical and thematic focus. What do the neighbouring regions, which are connected by the Alps among other things, have in common? How do Muslims, Muslim-read people and other marginalised groups experience this circumstance? What can all the people participating here learn from each other, what can they unlearn together? And what can alliances look like?
In the context of the Transalpine Festival, we start here and connect what has long been there with where we want to go: The vision of a pluralistic and solidary Europe.
