University Professorship in accordance with § 99 UG 2002 for Architectural Design
The following position at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is advertised:
University Professorship
in accordance with § 99 Universitätsgesetz 2002
for Architectural Design at the Institute for Art and Architecture (IKA) in full employment from 1 October 2021 for 1 year.
The architectural education at the IKA is based on an interacting structure of five platforms, each dedicated to a specific focus. These five platforms are: Analogue Digital Production (ADP), Structural Materials Technology (CMT), Ecology Sustainability Cultural Heritage (ESC), History Theory Critique (HTC), Geography Landscapes Cities (GLC).
Requirements for application:
• qualification as an architect or architectural theorist with a completed Austrian or equivalent foreign university degree on PhD level in architecture or proof of an equivalent academic qualification based on international publication, lecture and research activity
• proof of an internationally recognized highly qualified scientific or artistic-scientific position in the field of architectural theory and/or architectural history
• university teaching experience in the platform History Theory Critique (HTC) mentioned above, including design supervision
• excellent knowledge of English and/or German
• Gender- and discrimination-critical competences
Desired qualifications:
• exceptional knowledge and achievements in the field of architectural theory and the ability to link them to student's design work
• expertise in the field of architectural design with focus on architectural theory, architectural history and urban history
The teaching obligation includes courses of at least 14 hours per week.
The monthly gross salary according to the collective bargaining agreement for university employees in salary group A1 for full-time employment is currently Euro 5.321,7.
