A central curatorial aspect of the project is sounding shifts of meaning in different contexts: works from the participants’ oeuvres will be staged on a terrain that is very different from the Academy’s auratic xhibit spaces: in the Stop and Go Project Space of an operating rail-to-road freight terminal, a venue pragmatically related to the subject, radiating a terrific atmosphere, endowed with any amount of mobility expertise, as well as a comprehensive library and video collection.

A guided tour to significant locations revealing the transformation of logistics hubs and nodes of transnational mobility along the A4, the Eastern Motorway: from Freudenau harbor to the airport Vienna-Schwechat, the outlet center Parndorf, and the history of migration in the border region of Hegyeshalom-Nickelsdorf; with Hans Paul Limbeck, Kulturverein, and Gerhard Zapfl, Mayor of Nickelsdorf.
En route: Kommt ein einsamer Wanderer spät abends zu einer entlegenen Herberge, a performance on life and death at a motorway service area by Helmut and Johanna Kandl (actress: Petra Staduan). Musical accompaniment: Matthäus Bär.
