OeAW | DOC Fellowship
The DOC Fellowship Programme of the Austrian Academy of Sciences offers funding for highly qualified doctoral candidates in all areas of research.
Application for a DOC Fellowship of the Austrian Academy of Sciences is open to all young researchers in all areas of basic research who
- completed their Diplom or Master’s degrees no more than two years prior to applying,
- are writing their doctoral thesis at an Austrian university, and
- fulfil the admission requirements for doctoral or PhD studies of the university in question.
Application is conditional on above-average qualifications on the part of the applicant and the submission of an exposé of their doctoral thesis, a positive reference by their doctoral supervisor including proof of provision of all relevant resources for the project’s undertaking, and a brief description of the academic environment in which the thesis is being written.
