Offerus Ablinger studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Ashley Hans Scheirl. Central topics in his artistic work, especially in his painting, are normativity in a non-normative environment, queerness, social constructs and corporeality. Images of masculinity and gender roles outside and within the heteronormative boundaries are treated critically.
As part of the Offerus Ablinger/Hagendorfer art collective, the two artists deal intensively with socio-political issues, coming to terms with the past and questions about gender identity through installations and performances.
