The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna is currently accepting applications for the following position:
University Professor
of fine arts with a focus on conceptual art at the Institute for Fine Arts according to § 98 of the Universities Act 2002 (Universitätsgesetz 2002). The duration of this professorship is 6 years, from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2014.
Application requirements:
- Excellent academic qualification in the field of conceptual art with a special focus on a concept of work that formally and methodically reflects its content. In terms of a transdisciplinary approach to art, the candidate should be capable of considering the interfaces to other disciplines, media and genres. It is expected that the candidate be dedicated to linking theory and practice in research-orientated method of teaching.
- a degree in the field from an Austrian university, equivalent foreign university or a qualification that may be considered equivalent;
- proof of artistic or artistic/scientific expertise and international exhibition activity;
- proof of pedagogic and didactic qualification;
- ability to hold a chair of a department;
- willingness to participate in university committees and to cooperate with colleagues.
The duties cover teaching at least 17 units a week of individual artistic supervision as well as holding the chair of the department at the Institute for Fine Arts.
