University professorship
The following position at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is advertised:
University professorship
in accordance with § 98 Austrian University Act 2002 (Universitätsgesetz 2002) at the Institute for Fine Arts for the study of fine arts in the department of “Sculpture and Installation” at the Institute for Fine Arts. This professorship is offered for a period of six years starting 1 October 2021.
Conditions of employment:
- a university or college degree or equivalent artistic aptitude appropriate to the employment
- outstanding artistic qualification and working practice in the field of sculpture with reference to contemporary aesthetic-political discourses and with special consideration of a concept of work that reflects the cultural and discursive framework conditions in the creative process
- In the sense of an interdisciplinary concept of art, the contact points to other fields, disciplines and media should be available in any case.
- Proof of international exhibition activity
- Ability to develop and access the arts (artistic practice)
- Proof of pedagogical and didactic aptitude and teaching experience in the tertiary sector as well as a written statement (max. 5 pages) on the presentation of your own artistic teaching
- Competence to lead a department
- Willingness to cooperate with the staff of the department, the Institute of Fine Arts and other institutes of the Academy
- Willingness to participate in the committees of university self-administration
- excellent knowledge of English and/or German and the willingness to learn the other language
- Gender competence in the sense of identifying relevant gender aspects and dealing with them in a manner directed towards gender equality
- Competence regarding discrimination
The teaching commitment includes individual artistic lessons of 17 hours per week in the central artistic subject "Sculpture and Installation" in the field of fine arts.
The monthly gross salary according to the collective agreement for university employees in salary group A1 is currently Euro 5,245.6. The willingness to pay above collective agreement – depending on qualification profile – is given.
