Hut und Suppe
Soup, Stew and Discussion in Public Space (1 pot / Felix Kofler)
Initiated by Julia Haugeneder and Simon Nagy
What role can art that deals with communal eating and cooking play in the communalization of public space? Hut und Suppe (Hat and Soup) is a format that is organized on Saturday evenings around the KUNSTZELLE, which in the spring of 2023 will bear a sculpture by Julia Haugeneder as a hat.
Each time, a different artist, theorist or cultural worker cooks a large stew and shares it with anyone who wants to. At Soup-Spooning we talk about interventions in public space, about the role of art in it and about the intertwining of social practice and artistic strategies. Everyone is invited to share their own experiences and positions, to enter into conversation with the experts about their respective fields of action and employment, or simply to eat and listen.
We want to warm up with each other and, over a freshly cooked meal in the open air, ask how the aesthetic and social demands of art in public space can be reconciled.
