Heine Thorhauge Mathiasen in conversation with Tom Holert (Professor of Epistemology and Methodology of Artistic Production at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, art historian and cultural studies scholar, Vienna/Berlin) and Sören Grammel

Heine Thorhauge Mathiasen’s works strike a note consistently seeking to keep a subtle and unstable balance between conceptual and referential aspects and motifs on the one hand and their opening and programmatic subversion by means of emotional, absurd, and obsessive moments on the other. The picture shows a late sketch for a monument “To a Drunkard” by Dürer comprising various handwritten annotations and notes by Mathiason. (SG)
