In life, there is failure so devastating, it feels like the end of the road. But what if failure could be a starting point for something liberating, transformative—even joyful? Drawing on Jack Halberstam’s The Queer Art of Failure, this workshop explores failure as a rejection of societal norms that equate success with productivity, conformity, and capital accumulation. Through reflection, discussion, and humor, participants will critically engage with the emancipatory potential of failure. 
Using memes as a creative medium, we will transform personal narratives of failure into counter-hegemonic art, challenging dominant modes of knowledge production. Select outcomes will become part of the group exhibition almost extending the dialogue into public space.
