The students of Art and Intervention I Environment at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna explored the Styrian Eisenwurzen region for several months in 2023.

The exploration of the region, climate change and monocultures culminated in the exhibition zwischenwurzeln at the Silvanum Forestry Museum. The focus now expands from the mountain valley to the wasteland of the Nordwestbahnhof and the works take on a new relevance with regard to architecture, the public and climate change in urban space.

The Department of Art and Intervention I Environment positions itself at the interface between installation art and socially relevant debates. The focus is on the time-critical exploration of possibilities and places of social coexistence and is headed by Judith Huemer, with the collaboration of Tobias Pilz.
