The project explores how interactions between, across and beyond humans and nonhumans can be experimentally embodied, aesthetically reformulated and theoretically challenged in current and future configurations. practicing virtual conditions examines the challenges and potentials of an embodied and experimentally investigated concept of „intra space“, thus critically considering engagements, perceptions and imaginable alternatives in the negotiation with human and nonhuman agencies and their spatial, temporal and transversally entangled spheres.
The four-day program includes a lecture by Nanna Verhoeff and a performance screening, accompanied by discursive research sessions offering distinct perspectives and insights into the research work initiated by Esther Balfe with Diane Shooman, Ursula Frohne with Birk Weiberg, and Gabrielle Cram. The final day starts with a picnic and tour through the experimental framework and assembles responses and conversations with Nanna Verhoeff, Clemens Apprich, Vera Bühlmann, Dennis Del Favero, Sabine Folie, Ursula Frohne, Paolo Petta, Arno Ritter, Diane Shooman, Wolfgang Tschapeller, Birk Weiberg. The discussion will be moderated by Gabrielle Cram.
INTRA SPACE will remain open for individual visits by appointment during the month of April.
You are invited to participate in one to three sessions concluding the artistic research project I NTRA SPACE: the reformulation of architectural space as a dialogical aesthetic . Each session is led by 1-2 project team members and will take place in the experimental framework at the project space. To participate in the session, please send an email briefly stating your interest in participation and which session you would like to attend until March 31, 2017. There is no fee for participation in the sessions. There is the possibility to show or share insights of the sessions during the picnic on Saturday April 8, 2017.
