Home is a place that feels like baking is an exhibition developed as part of the special lecture "Waste is optional: Between Artistic Agency and Gaze," led by Zahra Khalid Mirza and Kristin Weissenberger. It features a collectively developed ceramic sculpture, edible elements made from bread dough, and a video documenting the creation processes. The clay used was excavated from the construction of Vienna's new subway line and was initially employed in an installation at the Institute of Architecture. During the lecture, the clay was manually processed for ceramic use. This labor-intensive and physically demanding process reflects the ongoing discussion about the value of materials and highlights the reciprocal relationship between materials and humans, forming the foundation for interpersonal interactions and our everyday culture.
