The Viennese youth project ‘Demokratie, was geht’ (Democracy, what's up) encourages a creative approach to democracy. Young participants explore artistic media to visualise personal stories and social issues. In cooperation with ‘Akademie geht in die Schule’ (Academy goes to school)
The youth project ‘Demokratie, was geht?’ (Democracy, what's up?) invites young people from Vienna to visualise their stories and perspectives in a creative way. Artistic forms of expression such as linocuts are used to create works that reflect personal experiences and social issues. The prints presented were created as part of the visual arts workshops with Ahoo Maher and Farila Neshat, which are organised in cooperation with ‘Akademie geht in die Schule’ (Academy goes to school). They show how art can make marginalised voices heard and open up spaces for exchange and participation - a plea for the power of democratic participation through creativity.
