Diana Barbosa Gil *1990 in Cali (Colombia) lives and works in Vienna.
As a visual artist, she creates installations, objects, and performances, often using ceramics. Her work explores states of physicality, sculpture, and art historical references, with a focus on questioning her own position as an academically trained artist estranged from 'home'. One of her main works are the tents she sews with her family in Colombia and displays in exhibition spaces.
Diana Barbosa Gil's works were exhibited in 2022 at the Kunsthalle Wien and in 2023 at the Kunsthalle Lingen, as well as in galleries like EXILE Wien, Foco Gallery in Lisbon, and in institutions such as Belvedere 21, Kunstraum Niederoesterreich, and Galerie 5020. Her works are part of the MUSA Collection in the city of Vienna and the Artothek of BMKÖS. In 2021, she was awarded the Kunsthalle Prize and the Recognition Award of the City of Vienna.
