Sofia Mascate, * 1995 in Portugal, lives and works in Vienna. She holds a master’s degree in Critical Studies from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and a MFA (Prof. Jutta Koether) from the HFBK Hamburg. Recent solo exhibitions include Gilded Cage at New Jörg in Vienna, Hypertext at Galeria Zé dos Bois in Lisbon, and Pick Me at BPA Space in Cologne. Her book “Tactical Retraction” of essays on still life painting was published in 2022 by the Materialverlag–HFBK.
