(re)claiming our bodies in the city
A black walk through Vienna.
(re)claiming our bodies in the city is a performance project that aims to reclaim the Viennese urban space in a performative practice of empowerment.
In the format of a research based workshop weekend we want to work together on a walk through the city as a performative intervention.
Different inputs, including dance/movement practices, discussions about our experiences in public space, experiments with costumes, as well as colonial histories throughout Vienna will accompany the workshop series. We invite black people and people who can share the experience of anti-black racism in the city. We will try our best to make this a safe space for everyone with a focus on queer and FLINTA* experiences.
If you are interested in experimenting with your body in public space or just want to join the experience of collective walk through the city, please register for the workshop until the 30th of June: anmeldung@brunnenpassage.at
Organized by Mariama Sow and Isabelle Edi in cooperation with Mzamo Nondlwana, Jaqueline Ejiji and others.
A project in the frame of Akademie | Kunst | Öffentlichkeit at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
