In period 19. 06 to 23.06.2023, students and academic staff from three Academies of Fine Arts met in Barcelona to close a year-long Blended Intensive Program (2022-2023) encounter and exchange program of events.

For the academic year 22|23, the Academy will award the following prizes to distinguished graduates and students:

Tizza Covi, professor of Art and Film at the Institute of Fine Arts since October 2022, and Rainer Frimmel were awarded for their portrait film Vera in the feature film category. Congratulations!

The walk-in art installation shows the importance of the forest in times of climate change - a cooperation between the Austrian Federal Forests, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and MQ. The design by the Vienna-based artist Johannes Franz-Figeac was selected by a jury of experts as part of the graduate funding program. Franz-Figeac was accompanied in the implementation by Mona Hahn, Johannes Hoffmann and Richard Reisenberger-Littasy, artists and teachers at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, in the form of mentoring.

Masimba Hwati receives the Cathrin Pichler-Prize 2023, sponsored by the City of Vienna and endowed with 2,500 euros. The award ceremony and presentation of the work will take place on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, 17 h in the Anatomy Hall of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

The Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) is carrying out the Student Social Survey 2023 on behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF).

The station exhibition A'Wiener Karavanserei was designed by Asma Aiad, a student of the Studio for Conceptual Art.

On 1.3.2023, the new University Council was appointed for the next 5 years.
